Wednesday Night Meals Returning for a Limited Time

Guess what? Wednesday night meals at the Sterling Campus are returning for a limited time only. Beginning this Wednesday (March 3, 2010) and running through April 21, dinner will be served from 5p to 6p in the Fellowship Hall. This service is courtesy of our Relay for Life Team as a fundraiser. The menu for March 3 is a variety of Crockpot of Soups, Crackers, Dessert, Tea or Coffee. Come out and support our Relay for Life Team this Wednesday evening. There is no advance signup and the price is by donation. See you there!

I came across an interesting interview via the internet and I thought you might be interested in it. It is about introverts and the church. As an introvert, I have been discouraged over the years to serve in the church, although I was capable, because of the direct nature of churches. Most churches are led by the extroverted individual, so it became clear to me in my earlier experiences that I would probably not fit in.

Please take the time to read this article and see the reality I was faced with earlier and am still dealing with today.

I haven't read the article yet, but I've got to say something. It is true that we tend to always see the same folks giving committee reports, or teaching, or leading prayer, and our church needs those extroverts that God wired that way. But behind every committee leader, there are five or six folks that are not in the public eye. Behind every Sunday School teacher, there is a class of people praying for each other and connecting with each other. Behind every mission effort, there are people asking God for wisdom, guidance, and success in kingdom terms. Yes, we need the extroverts, but the introverts are an essential, valuable part of the church as well. (As a matter of fact, some of those quiet, background folks are the ones I most admire.) Maybe there isn't a lot of public recognition, but God knows, and it is in obedience to His will that we participate. Ephesians 2:10. Keep at it.
